For many many years, my parents have wanted to get the whole inside of the house painted. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t on the top priority list in the past. My father got sick in April 2024 and he ended up passing away in December 2024. So this is kind of an honor to him to get the inside of the house painted. So you can imagine the pressure that my family and I felt on finding the right company to do this and one that would do an exceptional job. When I first called Nathan I did not know that he was an hour away from my parents place. After we talked, he decided he was going to make the trip and come take a look at the house and see what his thoughts are. When I met Nathan, he had such great customer service and very down to Earth. He was very real and that’s exactly what we were looking for. He has great communication and was always upfront with me. He cared for my parents place so genuinely. It is mine and my sisters childhood home and he kept referring to that because he wanted to make sure that it was taken care of every step of the way. When Nathan and his crew Cody and Gordy showed up, they wasted no time and started right in. They were efficient and knew exactly what they were doing. They wrapped my parents place up like Nathan would say “like a Christmas present”. They insured that no paint got anywhere that it wasn’t supposed to be. The results of what they did was absolutely beautiful. I would recommend them 1000 times over. They will get five stars from me and my family on not only executing a perfect paint job but their customer service and communication were impeccable!! It's now been almost 2 weeks since Nathan and his crew painted our house on the exterior and I am still in love with the incredible work they put into the project! Our house looks like a new house, because they put in detailed work in prepping it, painting it, and following with touch up work. Nathan and his team did a phenomenal job transforming my 1976 rambler and shop that hadn’t been painted in 30 years. They worked their butts off prepping the place to make sure the job was done right. Turn out better than I could imagine. I got 4 bids on this old shack and Cutting Edge was very fair on price as well. Even painted two doors that were not part of the original scope of work. Once completed, they went through and touched up any areas needing it and then made sure the entire work area was cleaned before they left. We are thrilled with the results. The team for Cutting Edge Painting arrived on the date scheduled, as planned. The team was cheerful, courteous, proficient, neat, and did a fine job. The house was fading from the sun and in some places the paint was peeling. After they finished, we walked around the house to inspect it. I did not notice until later that they had missed two of the vertical trim boards. They had been painted, just not with the trim paint. I called Nathan and he scheduled someone from his team to come out and tend to it. We are very happy with the job they did and how our house looks. We highly recommend Cutting Edge for exterior painting!
Nathan and his business partner, Richie, painted the exterior of our home and power-washed the concrete recently. They were extremely professional and precise. And…..always on-time and returned calls promptly (a rarity for contractors today). We plan on using them again for the interior and cabinets.

We heard about Cutting Edge from two of our neighbors who had their homes recently painted by them. After driving by and seeing their impeccable work with our own eyes we reached out for an estimate back in early 2022. The entire experience was awesome! Richie was super friendly and above all listened to our needs. Nathan, the owner of Cutting Edge, promptly emailed over a very competitive and thorough quote. We reached out for multiple bids with other companies but Cutting Edge truly rose above the rest. They had the perfect balance of complete scope of work and fairness/value in cost. Due to some unforeseen emergency projects (every homeowner knows about these) we were unable to move forward at that time. Fast forward a year later and a new fence, we absolutely knew we wanted to use Cutting Edge for our fence staining as well! We contacted Nathan and he remembered us, bundled the two (very large) projects together, and booked our project for early May. We had some major storms which caused a slight delay in getting the project started but Nathan’s communication during that time was top notch! He always kept us updated and informed. When the time came they were amazingly fast! The entire team prepped and primed so thoroughly. When it came time to paint/stain - I’d be hard pressed to find anyone else who had that level of precision, detail, and care. After all was said and done, our house looked brand new and the fence was gorgeous! During the final walk through they ensured we were happy with everything, but I was more than happy … I was beyond thrilled with the work they did! First of all, Nathan started his painting career in 2007 working for a small painting company in Thurston County. Over the years, Nathan learned many skills in the art of painting. Furthermore, he learned the importance of hard work and providing exceptional service to his customers.
Family Business
Painting has always been a part of Nathan’s life. While learning the craft of painting Nathan absorbed the trait from his father and brothers, who have been painting for most of their lives. Nathan began as an apprentice and learned the basics, such as caulking, puttying, sanding, etc. He worked for a few companies which in turn provided him opportunities to learn and advance his skills.
Starting a Painting Company
Nathan enjoyed and appreciated each position held, but he always knew that he wanted to do more.
In 2011, Nathan decided to take the steps needed to start his own painting company. Through determination and hard work, Nathan was given the opportunity to paint his first commercial job on his own (West Side Bowling Alley). An additional 15 plus residential homes followed shortly thereafter.

Nathan did a great job in painting our home from the red and cream color to the blue and white we chose. Nathan was very professional from the beginning to the end. He provided us with a written estimate, showed up on time, kept everything neat and clean. When he finished the job he made sure everything was cleaned up. He also checked with us several times to see if we were happy with his work and if anything needed to be redone.
